Most importantly, The Athena Bridge provides immobile patients with a way to move around comfortably and safely. Caregivers are able to keep their patients safely in their chairs without the use of restraints. This is possible through the chair's tilt-in-space feature, along with a few built-in and optional attachments. The Athena Bridge positioning chair comes equipped with a built-in footrest and optional foot box, shoulder, or lateral supports. These attachments provide patients with a confined seating position without the use of restraints. Along with keeping the patient safe, the tilt capabilities of the chair can also reduce the risk of pressure sores or pressure injuries. This is due to the patient being able to be safely repositioned throughout the day in order to redistribute their weight and the pressure being placed on one spot for too long.
